The Commitee

One of our founder members is a senior coach at the tennis academy that manages the courts, and two are parents of academy children.

Secretary - Litza Joubert

I am a mum of three kids that absolutely love being active. We have found ourselves on many different pitches and sports fields but our oldest son has fallen in love with the tennis court.

We as family have learnt many things around the tennis court but I think the biggest lesson has been “Life is like a game of tennis; the player who serves well seldom loses.” Author Unknown.

I am very passionate about serving the community and together enabling more kids and adults to enjoy the pleasure of being on court.

Treasurer - Kieran Macarty

Kieran joined the tennis academy at 12 as a promising junior, training on the Manor Park courts in all weather conditions five days a week – and went on to achieve an ATP doubles world ranking of 578.

He returned to the academy as a full-time senior coach after gaining a degree in Sports Studies from Stirling University, and is now dedicated to helping a new generation of children from the local community develop the same passion for tennis that the courts at Manor Park helped nurture in him.

Chair - Leon Chevalier

I am a recent convert to the tennis family – having been pulled away from a golf obsession by my tennis crazy kids. But I’m very happy to be off the course and on the courts!

Tennis has some wonderful life lessons for children (and adults) – the importance of determination and never giving up, the rewards of hard work put in every day and the joys of working with others (coaches, parents, friends) towards a common goal.

I very much hope we can allow as any people as possible in the local community to experience the joys of tennis for themselves.
